These drawings are simply the fruit of observing the primitive architecture, the colours and the way of living of a system that has hardly changed through through centuries.
One of the best experiences of my life was visiting Africa.It was from the sensations of those journeys,which i wrote down on my diary day by day, and from the ancestral traditions of the native tribes, that the idea issued to design this collection of carpets. These drawings are simply the fruit of observing the primitive architecture, the colours and the way of living of a system that has hardly changed through through centuries.This is why i believe the essence of these designs is indeed to be ascribed to the inhabitants of those lands.
