The Museum of Modern Art of Tarragona exhibits Reflexions and, at the same time, work models of some of the lighting projects carried out in recent years.
“Antoni Arola’s journeys and transitions are unsuspected. He seeks his roots tirelessly, he avoids mirages. He devours the hidden spaces of his memory, his cultural imagination, his vital baggage and his unrepentant transformations.
Today, his explorations come together in Tarragona, his hometown, or the origin of his journey. The Museum of Modern Art of Tarragona exhibits “Reflexions” and, at the same time, some models as the first sketches of each creation, which in this context acquire a spontaneous, natural artistic dimension.
The last introspections of his creative thinking led, three years ago, to a poetic approach to his current experimental position: “Reflexions”. The reflections of the work narrate the meaning, the sensuality, the evanescence and lightness of the light. It is a mutant piece that adapts to each context with flexibility and fluency. Barcelona, Shanghai and Mexico have been its global destinations so far.
Antoni Arola’s indomitable pulse breaks down atmospheres. It composes a new sensitivity to the immaterial spirit of contemporary beauty, a light for the future. ”

Reflexions takes as a starting point the reflection that light makes on polished surfaces, on mirrors. It is a game, a relationship between the source of light and the projection of its own reflection. These reflexes are endowed with movement, with their own life and randomness, so that they have a cadence and a tempo that accompanies the spectator.
Reflections is an ongoing project. A constantly evolving concept that, depending on the context, the exhibition space and the emotion to be felt, comes to life in a certain way, adapting to different realities, environments and cultures. This work has been exhibited:
